History
It’s a pretty simple concept. We believe our talents are a gift and that they should be shared with other people. The beauty is, many people want to share their talents. That’s why we created Open Stage.
Open Stage was one of the first programs at Emmaus. Back in the farm house (Emmaus 1.0) we hosted them once a month. This was a very intimate and wonderful time. People made the trek out to play and listen. When we moved into our second building (Emmaus 2.0) we had an actual stage and room to spread out. This allowed us to host Open Stage once a week. Now at 3.0 nothing has changed but location and size. Every Thursday our own Craig Wilson hosts the event. People come from all around to play guitars, harmonicas, mandolins, kazoos. People read poems, stories, fables. Some have been known to juggle. Some people just to come to lend an ear. Large or heavy bands with kits are welcomed, but please contact venue@ThisisEmmaus ahead of time to ensure your slot (it can get tricky).
Consider this an invitation. Our stage is your stage.
